footage was shot on a JVC gy-hm100 in mp4, "told jesse james i need it shot .mov!!

Try MPEG Streamclip - it's free. BTW .mp4 is a kind of .mov.

Convert it to ProRes. mov describes the container, but you need a codec easier to edit than avchd (mp4) so go with ProRes.

If I read your question as 'which of the ProRes options should I use' the answer is I guess which ever one your hard drive can stand, but in truth you can't 'improve' from your source, so the ProRes 422 LT should be fine.
PAL or NTSC makes no difference here -- they are all the same codec, it is only the framerate that changes. Cheers, GB |
