Pulling my hair out!! There's not much left...

I don't suppose anyone else has had this utterly frustrating problem with FCP 7? I have a "finished" HD project waiting to be uploaded onto Vimeo. 99% of the film is fine, but there are about four shots (day for night) that have either a lighter or a darker frame at the start of the shot (never at the end, however). Whatever I do I just can't remove them; I've tried trimming, replacing the shots from the original footage, etc, etc. The shots in question have had video filters added; brightness and contrast plus noise reduction. When you render the shots the problem returns. It's as though the computer is cloning the shots, or that the memory of the previous (deleted) problematic shots can't be removed from the timeline. I'm sure it's a rendering problem and it's driving me crazy. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Simon

i had a very similar issue ages ago where it seemed like it was re-using an old render or something. Can't fully remember what I did to fix. I think I had to get rid of all the render files and re-render the whole project. Sorry can't help much but offer sympathy.

Cheers Damian,

I actually tracked down the problem just after posting here. It turned out to be the smart noise filter that was causing the effect; removing the filter stopped the change at the start of the shot, but of course I'm now left with a noisy shot! You can't win.
