Some tips on motion blur?
 

Thought I'd ask your advice on something. I shot a music video in Berlin last weekend. I caught something interesting that happened live in front of a large audience so I left my 7d on a the tripod and grabbed the 5d.

Since the 7d had the only ND filter on it, I had to stop down on the 5d, which I was running around with on my steadicam merlin. I had doubled my shutter speed but in haste, I think I actually bumped the shutter speed up to 200 which actually turned out nice for all of the take, but their is one quick sequence where I pan the audience and it is painful on the eyes.

I have halved the speed, hoping it would help, and am putting on some motion blur. Do you have any post tips on how to make it look less choppy? Like motion blur settings or any post production slow mo tips to make it look smooth?

I'd appreciate any help I could get

No replies Chris and I suspect because there's not much you can do. I've had the same problem due to my ignorance of shutter speeds and could not find any way round it. I tried motion blur but didn't like the results really. Maybe some creative use of stills intercut with moving images might distract the viewer?

But others still might be prompted to answer...

I think I might just blur it all and see if it gets lost in the movement, I hope so at least. Might have a friend take it into after effects and see if he can pull off any twixtor like magic with it.
