how to re-render a section in the timeline

occasionally I get what I assume is a render glitch, where playing back a sequence in the timeline, a random misplaced frame appears jumps up on screen even though it is not there when I step back and forth frame by frame.

I'm assuming this is a glitch in the render file. So what I want to do is to re-render just that section, or at least that clip, so that a correct render is in its place.

I know how to delete a whole sequences render files, through render manager, but not a single section, or clip.

Re: how to re-render a section in the timeline

This can be caused by a number of issues, the most likely being that the render files are ending up on a slow drive or the drive is close to full or the drive is suffering from directory corruption. You should check these issues first.

The easiest way to force a re-render is to change the clip in question by shortening it and then returning it to it's previous length with the cursor. This will negate the previous render file. Be sure to return it to it's previous state by using the cursor to drag the end point and not the undo command (cmdZ). The undo command will restore the previous render.

Re: how to re-render a section in the timeline

Thanks Will. That should work.

Though all my files are on fairly new 2 TB G-Drives, with plenty of room to breath. This isn't something happening all time time, just something I occasionally catch.

thanks again.
