anyone here author QTVR's

Anyone know of an easy cheap way to make full 360 QTVR's of say a house interior using still photos?

I have never done professional level QTVR work, and consequently never invested in higher end software or those crazy globe lookin' things, but I have had a little bit of fun making a few QTVR files about 4 years ago using a free program that came bundled with my Canon digital camera. It was called Photostitch and works quite easily, although I don't know if it can be downloaded or not but it worked well for me in stitching a bunch of photos together and exporting them as a QTVR file.

Here are a couple of them:

Here is one taken of a school yard where I used to work:

Here is one I took at the grand canyon:

Probably Photoshop and Quicktime Pro could create these a little better, but not nearly as quickly.

If you have a digital camera, check out the install CD to see if there are any options there, otherwise, check out versiontracker or other such sites to look for free or lowcost shareware. Perhaps others on the thread will be able offer a little more insight based on more experience than I have.

I used to stitch make QTVR's for a hobby.

For the Mac...there used to be a lot more programs for doing QTVR. Most of them now run only in Classic or OS9

You can use still photos---but it is so much easier, cheaper and faster to use a digital camera mounted on a proper QTVR head.

As for software:

Apple's QTVR Authoring Studio

Panimation's Nodester[no defunct]

VRWorx.

Photovista which cost $49.95

There is also the free Panotools[which I have NO idea how to use] and the OSX front end from PTMac

Check out www.kaidan.com for more solutions and make sure you visit:

Lots of tutorials there.

I know Photoshop Elements has a stitching function builit in...but I'm not sure how suitable it is for QTVR.
