Final Cut Studio tutorial dvd rental

Hi,

Here's a question, is it possible to rent DVD instructional vidoes for Final Cut Studio? I know you are able to rent some camera work videos such as Hollywood Camera Works from http://technicalvideorental.com/inde...x&cPath=109_86

I have been searching to rent something like this http://www.digitalmediatraining.com/products/fcstudio/# its a tutorial for Final Cut Studio. Can you guys please let me know where I can rent a instructional Final Cut dvd online? Also what is the best tutorial for Final Cut? Because there are so many and i dont know what to choose.

Thanks,
Joey

I was looking for video training a while back. Then I found the Apple Pro Training books. They are very good and in depth. They tell you more than just an overview of the new "whistles and buttons." Here is a link to the only trainig you will need: (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/032...=UTF8&s=books).

My experience with the videos is that they only cover a small portion and you still have to figure out how it will best work for you. The books tell all!

A second vote for Lynda.com

It's great you pay $25 a month and you get full access to all the movies, not just FCP they've got a lot of Apple stuff and Adobe as well.

James mentioned the Apple training books. This particular one:

http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Pro-Trai...e=UTF8&s=books

states in it's introduction that it's the printed version of the pdf files that accompany the tutorial DVDs included with Final Cut Studio. The book includes it's own DVDs as well, perhaps the same ones that came with FCS.

Lynda.com You can join on a monthly membership and it gives you access to ALL of their hundreds of titles.

I joined Lynda.com to learn FCP and it's been great. I do suggest setting up a laptop next to your FCP system in order to make it easier to watch the training and edit along in FCP.

DVCreators will be releasing a complete "PowerStart" (or similar title) DVD tutorial especially for FCP Studio within a few weeks.

I have just started with FCP (Mac G5 and two G-RAIDS).

DVCreators was good enough to burn off a copy of their previous tutorial DVD (now out of print), which got me started on FCP while waiting for the full Studio version.

They have a unique way of "chunkalizing" their production. What this means is you can stop/start/replay any "chunk" that you are working with...and since they actually walk you through using a project in FCP as you go (their DVD provides you with all the QT files you'll need to build a project and use the many FCP tools and techniques you are learning about) then you don't need to use a laptop to view the DVD while running FCP on another machine.

I have no financial interest in any of this by the way.....but I do know one of their team (Guy Cochrane of DV e-store) personally, and yesterday he started sweetening my first rough cut and believe me, having seen what he can do with it FCP looks like being a superb NLE choice.

Guy also sells an excellent FCP book as well - which I bought, and within no time I had figured out how to turn three XDCAM discs of a long interview (44 pages of transcript) into subclips and sub-subclips which can be numbered then automatically and instantaneously dropped into the timeline in their completely re-arranged order........a-bluddy-mazing.....

Not bad for my first effort I must say:-)

Frankly, I would recommend that you buy your own DVD tutorials - specially this upcoming one on FCP Studio because of all the other components it will no doubt include - rather than renting.

Hope this helps.

Michael Knight.

The DVCreators people are genuine experts with FCP.

The "PowerStart" DVD's are extremely well done- I am noticing the disc I have doesn't work with Intel Macs- so check before you puchase- but I like the "Chunkalized" lessons- very well done and easy to learn!

As for price of the DV Creators FCP DVD tutorials....about $US70.

Compare that to between $150 and $300 from other FCP tutorial offerings I've looked at.....which do not include anything about the additional Studio software.

Best.
