Cinema Display 23 or 30?

I am planning to get a cinema display and the new Matrox MXO (when it comes out) for monitoring HDV. Which would be better, a 23 inch display, 30 inch, or doesn't it matter? Is it beneficial that the 23 inch is so close to the natvie 1920x1080 resolution of my HDV footage? Are there any negative thoughts on the Matrox MXO?

Thanks

Screens

Get the Dell. The apples look cool but the Dell has the EXACT same specs. The Dell also has the LG Panels(LCD) that come in the Cinema Displays.

I just bought the Dell 2405FPW for around $800 with FREE shipping.

Save the cash, get the same screen and put your extra bones into more ram, etc. etc.

The only difference as I can tell is the Dell doesn't have a Firewire port. However, it does have every other port. I don't know if the Apple comes with a component, S-Video and RCA as well as DVI and VGA but the Dell does.

For the money I don't think you can beat it.

Tim

P.S. The packages comes with several cables to get you going, including a DVI cable.

I have read that the 23" cinema display uses an LG.Philips panel and the Dell uses a Samsung panel. They have slightly different sized pixels (both apple and dell are 1920x1200) but the dell is 1" larger.

The apples don't have all the video inputs that the dell has.

I might hold out for a little bit and see if apple releases any new displays.

I have the 23" at work and it's plenty big. The 30" is much more expensive and takes a special card to drive it as well.
