NTSC to PAL Conversion on a Mac?

I want to convert NTSC to PAL so I can send it on a PAL DVD to a film festival. What's the easiest cheapest way to do this on a mac?

Thanks!

I know of 3 solutions....

1. Compressor (part of the FC Studio bundle). Evidently it works fine but is very slow (on G5 macs, don't know about Intel).

2. Nattress Standards conversion: http://www.nattress.com/Products/sta...conversion.htm - Graeme is a regular here.

3. DVfilm Atlantis: http://www.dvfilm.com/atlantis/ (and I think DVFilm Maker will also do NTSC to PAL, but not the other way around).

The only one of these I've used personally is Atlantis, and it did a very good job for what I wanted. Download free trials of Nattress and DVfilm and see what you think.

If this is for Sony's Tropfest, I offer a free service for Tropfest entrants.
All I'd require is a mention in the credits.

Visit us here: http://www.skg-productions.com/contact-us.html and click on the drop down box and select Tropfest Info.

Cheers

Sure, I'd enter Tropfest. Entries aren't open yet, but I've been sending "Tulips for Daisy" out to many major fests and Tropfest looks good.

You could tag on a "PAL Conversion by..." credit over the end credits as you please.

I need it pretty fast. How do we do this?

Depending on the size of the project, you'd either upload or send (post) me the footage.

Send me an e-mail or more info.

I am trying to convert NTSC to PAL using Compressor. I tried with DV FILM ATLANTIS.
I never obtained results that convinced me entirely. There must really be a way to do this and make it look ok, but I havent found it in any software.

I shot a short film in a Cannon XL1 NTSC on FRAME mode. There is absolutely no way to get that to PAL and make it look OK. The fact of it having "no fields". makes very difficult to get a good look.

If anyone knows any very good software, please mention.

Thanx.
