FCP workshop-need recommendation!

Hey there

I am looking to take a FCP workshop locally (boston area).
Does anyone know if the Apple Pro Training courses are any good?

(I am looking at the "FCP 101" 3-day workshop -- my only experience with FCP is making an 8 minute movie from a 16mm film transfer. The course I made it in was focused on the "film" aspect, so I just learned FCP basics to edit it.)

The training centers in my area that offer it are "Future Media Concepts," "Tech Superpowers," and "The Center for Digital Imaging at BU."

Any knowledge of the quality of these? or of any others you would recommend?

Thanks.

-Patricia

Workshop

Hello Patricia,

If I were you I would get the Pro Care card from Apple. Here in Canada it costs only $100 Canadian per year and you can have one on one training on any product that you like. I have Final Cut Studio and I learnt a lot from Apple for an extreme low fee. Also you can bring your projects and ask them questions. I am sure in Boston you have an Apple store. I hope you did not invest already in the thousands of dollars training programs because they are very expensive. The Pro Care works for me a lot. The only drawback you can only book one hour per week which is not too bad.

I hope this will help.

Gilbert.

You could also spend $25 and subscribe to lynda.com for a month and watch all the movies you want in their library. Final Cut Studio, Adobe CS and a bunch of other stuff.
