Uncompressed HD without blackmagic ??? in FCP
Hi, here is the question.
I have dual G5 2,7 and I had a blackmagic card installed. So in a easy setup I had an option to choose blackmagic 1080 50i 8 bit (as an example) using this setting and source files from a HUGE SYSTEMS raid I could edit in real time uncompressed 1920X1080 material. Now I purchase a second mac. That is quad G5 and I have Xserver raid connected to it. But I don't have blackmagic card on this machine. So in easy setup the only option for HD is DVCPRO HD. What is the solution here? I need to edit uncompresssed HD material in real time. Please help me here. |
A simple solution would be to network the two boxes together. After capturing with the BM card, just transfer those files to the Quad. You're not capturing uncompressed on the Quad, so no capture setups needed. Do you have a fibre channel card on the older Mac? You could just swap the X-server between boxes?
Perhaps I'm missing something. |
but what are the settings in the sequence that i need to set? on the other mac i used to set blackmagic uncompressed 8 bit and everything worked well.

You should still be able to install the BM software on the Quad.

I installed the blackmagic software on the quad and it worked. So thanks for help. Now I want to test the xserver raid speed. The blackmagic speed test won't work without the card, so do you know any other software that could do that?

hari,
yes i think i can help u, because at this moment i have two systems working in uncompressed hd, just let me know what do u need help in? hardware solution or what? i can tell u what my workflow and hardware is. |
So, can you export uncompressed without the Black Magic codec?
Black Magic 8 bit changes the color space to YUV or something. It looks different. Thanks, Don |
