FCP 5.1 - 60i to 24p

I've read several articles and found a few posts on this.
I'm looking for a way to convert 60i footage to 24p in FCP.

I don't have After Effects, or any expensive plugins.
Does anyone know of a good way to do this without spending money on expensive programs and plug-ins?

Try Riley's Technique

I haven't messed with it a whole lot but it seemed to work ok for what I needed.

Thanks.
I checked out one of the test videos in that thread, and it looked a little choppy.
Anyone else know if any other secret tricks?

I tried "mpeg stream clip" last night, and could not get it to change 29.97 interlaced into 59.94 progressive. It only appeared to de-interlace the 29.97 and then write the FPS as 59.94. So when I brought it into a 23.98 timline in FCP, it was just as jerky as if I had dropped the 29.97 clip straight in.

Anyone have any input?

I would recommend the Nattress filters. They have a nice set of 24p conversion options.
