just got my macook bro but how can i check and make sure that its the right harddrive

I just got my macbook pro 15" w/ 2gig RAM and 2.16ghz but i also got the 100gb 7200 rpm hard drive and i wanna make sure its actually that hard drive is there a way i can look it up? the info says its a 100gb ata or whatever doesnt have the speed...HELP PLEASE! thanks

Under the blue apple, select "about this mac." In the little window, select "more info..." and it will bring up another window. Under "hardware" select "Serial-ATA" and it will provide you with the model number of your HD. Do a google on the model number and you sould be set.
