480i, 1080i Strategy

No one likes interlaced artifacts. Especially not when delivering to the web, podcast or other online formats. With 480i and 1080i sources I've used a lot of de-interlace check boxes during exports. But, some artifacts always remain, most noticeably when the video is paused. So, what's the best way to take interlaced video and master it to look like progressive video using the tools in FCS or AE? Or, is the best strategy to shoot progressive in the first place.

Thanks for your thoughts,

You can't get rid of interlacing perfectly... you will lose resolution, or you will have interlacing artifacts. *I'm not sure if it's possible to remove interlacing but still look really really good... I haven't looked closed into what a Teranex (or similar device or software) can do.

2- If your target market is mostly viewing on progressive devices, you might as well shoot progressive.
