Hd 100

Hey all I got a question about FCP, I just got in the crossgrade supposedly fixing the problem with the hd100. But FCP still will not reconize my camera, Is there some settings that I have to change? I shoot in 720/24p, Also I have yet to upgrade my camera to the hd100u (A) I found out about the free upgrade too late, Just waiting to get money to send my camera to JVC for the update. Could that be to problem?

Hi Andrew,

If your Mac is not seeing the camera at all, make sure that:

1. You have the DV/HDV switch in the right position. Remember to turn the camera power off before changing this switch.

2. Your firewire cable is good

3. You have choosen the correct "Easy Set-up" in FCP

4. You have pressed the VTR Mode switch on the camera

If all of the above is true, then your firewire circuit may be damaged. Please see this thread for details:

Once you send the camera in, the service dept. will contact you for payment arrangements.
