Audio popping

Has anyone else noticed that audio (music for me) pops really bad at the beginning of the timeline then stops?

It will pop and sound bad for a few seconds then it goes away and sounds fine. It does this with any song I use.

I'll export a clip in a little bit.

MP3 or AIF?

Assuming FCP, if your audio file is mp3 format, first convert it to AIF using Compressor, iTunes, or iMovie. FCP isn't very fond of compressed audio sources, it's simpler in the long run to work with AIF.

Yes sorry I'm on FCP 5.1.4 using MP3's. I'll give that a shot and post back in a bit.

That was definitely it. Thanks again Matt.

Gene,

FCP uses the DAT standard for audio, which is 48khz AIFF. You can give it whatever bitrate you want for quality, but that's the format it wants.
