Yeah, my original MBP battery swelled on me, and I had its replacement, er, replaced about a month ago when after 100 or so charges it would only last a half hour. Haven't noticed that this affects my battery life so far.

Yeah,
I have two Macbooks purchased less than a year ago for general household use. (My wife and my son) and both the original batteries have been replaced after failing. The Apple store was great about it even BEFORE this official recall - taking a quick look, seeing the batteries weren't re-charging properly and simply replacing the batteries without charge or hassle. All computers have issues. What makes a difference is how the companies handle it when problems arise. In my case, Apple handled it as well as possible in my opinion. Make it good. Don't hassle the customer. Move on. |
Just traded in my Mackbook Pro 17" battery for a new one. It didn't swell, but it would go from a full charge with almost 3 hours remaining to zero in 5 minutes. It would just shut off and the battery light on the bottom would blink on one light.
Apple overnighted me a new one. No problems now. |
