thinking of a new Machine

Hello Mac users
I believe I am going to make the switch from Adobe to FCP! So naturallly I will need to get a Mac Pro so the question is should I spring for the dual Quad core or just stick with the dual Dual cores set up. is the price worth it?how much of an increase will I see in preformance with FCP? I will be using an XDCAM and probably he EX when it come out.

Thanks Matt

Sorry guys My internet browser was not updating so I could not see the latest posts but feel free to answer if you want. Please focus on the XDCAM part with FCP

Yes, Hi this is a good question, I would go with the Quad core if you are going XDCAM. You will get better preformanese, I do not know the % of any speed increes, but from my expreance using the mac try to get the best of the best, If you have the money. Espesually If you are doing fx and stuff like that. But I say this more as I feeling thing rater then anything else. I have not tested the differense in prefomance.

Hope this will help you some.

Sorry for my grammer, not so good ;o(

I suggest waiting until June 11th for WWDC. There is a good chance that Apple will update the Mac Pro since it came out, there has been no updates outside of the 8-Core option.

Definitely wait for WWDC. But yes I personally fully recommend the 8 core macs. You will see a significant increase in speed.

Hopefully Apple will update their stupid video cards. 8800 GTX please.

Yes, there are a lot of new "HD" video cards out and Apple should be using them hopefully.
