no log/capture window with AIC capture

I'm using FCP 5.1.4 with the AIC/1080i60 preset, but when I hit cmd-8 to get the log and capture window, instead I just get a small dialog that allows me to name the clip and hit "OK", after which the capturing starts. There does not appear to be a way to log clips in the traditional manner. Is this normal with AIC capture?

That is what is going on with mine too Dave. When I use HDV direct i.e. not AIC, I get the Log and Capture window. Not sure whether that is the thing with AIC thus someone who knows would like to confirm.

Cheers

That is the normal behavior. It's spelled out in the manual.
