MPEG Streamclip closing unexpectedly

When converting to AVI...MPEG Stream clip keeps stopping at about 4% complete and closing the program 'unexpectedly'.

Getting very frustrated.

It worked perfectly the first 2 times and now keeps doing this even after reinstall.

Thank you for any suggestions in advance.

Are you using 1.8 or the 1.9 beta? Try them both and see if it fixes the problem.

Tried both and just tried to export it to the laptops hard drive instead of the external...still doing the same thing. Get's to about 3-4% of the conversion and quits the program. ...

Very frustrating, i had a similar problem.

It was suggested to me to e-mail the developer of the software, as he is apparently very receptive to how the software behaves.

worth a try anyway!

Did you recently update your OS to 10.4.10? I did, and now FCP vaporizes while doing certain tasks. Arrgh. This is why they say never update unless you are absolutely certain ...

Still same after reinstall

Did a full system reinstall to clean out and make some needed Hard Drive space. Mpeg still closing unexpectedly.

Aha, it works fine if you input the frame rate. For 60i ...input is 60.

60i should actually be 29.97, and 60P should be 59.94.
