FCP Print-to-Tape Video in Black
 

I am trying to Print-to-Tape in FCP and I get perfect audio but video is in black. I have tried cutting off "Mirror To Desktop" and exporting as QT sequence and P-t-T that way and every time I get video in black.

I am trying to print to a Sony DSR-11 through Firewire. This is a miniDV project.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

When in doubt power down everything and bring it back up. Its amazing how many times this has saved the day. make sure though everything is off before powering back on.

Other things you can try:

Reset to an "Easy Setup" for "DV NTSC" in FCP

Make sure video can pass through the deck to a monitor. This was you know for sure the deck is getting video.

Try a different firewire cable, or resetting the one your currently using.

Make sure your hard drive isn't to full where performance may become an issue.

These are just some basic ideas that often worked for me.
