What is best for YouTube and Vimeo

I have been shooting all my YouTube video in 60i, on both my Canon A1, and HV30. I read somewhere that 24p was better to use for the web, so I shot everything in 24p on my HV30 and 24f on my A1. I used the same compression settings for 24fp as I used on the 60i and saw a huge improvement in my Youtube videos.

After a call to Canon about another problem, I mentioned the improvement of 24 verse 60i for the web. The fellow at Canon said I should shoot in 30f and I would see a better improvement over 24pf when I upload to the web, because Youtube uses 15f and the 30p converts more easily to YouTube's 15f. Is this correct?

It sounds right. If you stay with 30f my guess would be a little better looking video.

I shoot in 30p almost exclusively and it looks fantastic on YouTube and on dvd. That's with my HV30. I'm not to crazy about 24 or 30 with my XL2 though.
