Video compression from Final Cut
 

I'm trying to take a completed :45 video from Final Cut and prepare it for importing into Flash. I've tried different compression schemes, and after importing into FlashMX, I'm still getting a huge file (15 MB) with significant quality loss at the output stage of my flash movie. I've tried converting to .flv, but the quality is definitely lost, and the video has trouble streaming on DSL connections.

I would appreciate some assistance with this, please. Thank you.

i was trying to do the same thing last week and everything looked great when i used an uncompressed(i use that term loosely) .avi video file from Adobe Premier. if flash will import it, try exporting full quality dv and then using flash to compress.

I could give that a try, but how did you compress in flash? Are you using the 786 kbs setting. Also, how small of a window size?

Yes, I converted it using Flash 8 Video encoder, which is part of Macromedia Studio MX. I don't remember the settings off hand, but I think we used the default and it looked pretty good.

If you're saying 45 mintues I don't know what quality you're expecting :)

So can just get this right. you are trying to get a 45 min video into the low sized file which is flash and then you are going to try and put it on the internet?
