That is fantastic! I love how you can keep the horizon perfectly level. Also love when you have birds flying in the shot.

There's some really nice shot there. I have to admit I didn't watch the whole thing, but what I did watch was very impressive.

Superbly shot and beautifully clear and stable footage!

Being new to quad flying and filming, it gives me something to aspire to. The chances of me ever getting that sort of footage is pretty unlikely though, as much of it would be illegal in the UK under the CAA regulations.

Yep, really nice. I was just thinking that the pull back shot would be easiest to do by reversing the footage when I noticed that a car was going backwards and that that was exactly what you have done.

Great work. +1 for the birds flying through shot, they looked superb.

Re: My best of 2013

Thanks guys.
Flying in Poland is of course regulated too. I have a lot of experience by buildung and flying RC planes and helicopters, and working closely with the aviation authority - i have the very first pilot license for commercial UAV in Poland.
Most of the shots are done for cities goverments and done under the supervision of (and with help) of police.
We of course never fly over people groups etc...
Flying in the cities we pay very very much attention to safety. We fly only in sight and the devices are very carefully controlled before any flight.
Although I never had a crash with a flying camera - I am fully aware that some risk always remains.
Here are some of older shots.

Ivan, very beautiful footage. Even your earlier footage that you just posted shows how professional you are.

How long have you been flying RC helicopters?
What camera are you using?
Did you build the helicopter?
What gimbal are you using?

Very nice, James

Re: My best of 2013

Thanks James. Its alls done with S800 from dji and Zenmuse gimbal.
Other than helicopters - this things are flying with self leveling autopilot. Its not a challenge for an RC enthusiast. Its something like driving a bus after driving a racing car. As pilot i have all the time and concentration to fly very precisely and as safe as possible. Gimbal is operated by a second person with whom I have regular contact to discuss the shot during flight. The most important is how good we work together. We are still lerarning - by every flight.
But this is still just an worktool. The greatest joy and challenge ist the some as with camera on a tripod:
You have to find a good looking picture. And next one - to edit it with the first. Its really not easy to find different kind of pictures to combine it.
Here is a longer version of a part from the 2013 film. I hope you like it too.
