Carrying Case?
The one concern I would have about the FS-1 is the portability of it... where can it be worn? Just on the shoulder or also on the belt? For someone slinging around a camera and trying to get shots, is the FS-3 the answer?
Thx, Steve |
Hi Steve,
The FS-1 in its field case can be worn over your shoulder or on your belt. The case has a slot on the rear for passing your belt through. It really just depends on how you want to use it. FS-3 was designed especially for on-camera use. What sort of camcorder do you own? Matt McEwen |
We have two cameras... the JVC GY-DV500 and a Sony camera with a V-Mount.

Hi Steve,
With these camcorders, I would recommend FireStore DR-DV5000 or FS-3. DR-DV5000 was designed for use with the JVC GY-DV5000 camcorder, but it also has a mount plate for the DV500. If you ever upgrade to the GY-DV5000 camera , there is many options you will be able to take advantage of with the DR-DV5000. FireStore FS-3 on the other hand comes with V-Mount (or Anton/Bauer, PAGlock or NP) plates allowing you to mount it directly to your Sony camcorder (it wedges between the battery and camcorder and shares the V-Mount power with the camera). Then all you need is a FireWire cable between the camcorder and FS-3. Hope that helps, Matt McEwen |
