New version of FS-H200 Pro?

I noticed that BH has 2 versions of the Focus Enhancements FS-H200 Pro listed, with a price spread of $200 The old one, listed as "Temporarily out of stock" Mfr# 12614
and the new one: listed as "New Item, Available for pre-order" Mfr # 12613

Anyone know what the new version is all about?

Just curious, have been looking at the FS-CF models, the are out of stock there as well.

Re: New version of FS-H200 Pro?

I noticed that, too, at the BH PhotoVideo site. So, I decided to check the Focus Enhancements web site and could not find anything about a new version of the FS-H200 Pro device. It's a mystery to me why BH PhotoVideo is promoting it like this. Maybe it's a typo???

I have one. Although I am sure that I am not using it to its fullest potential, the FS-H200 Pro works great for my modest needs. I also own the older FS-4 Pro device which is still running great with my older video camera! (Knock on wood!)

Re: FS-H200 Pro NEW VERSION!

I just got a note back this morning from Geol Yeadon (Sr. Marketing and Sales Operations Manager for Focus)

I asked the following: why does BH have this Pro model listed at 2 prices, one "Temporarily out of stock", and the other "New Item, Available for pre-order"?

and his response:
"We have just released a new version that has a scroll pad (like an iPod ) instead of a scroll wheel. The new version is being treated as a new product."

and, I was wondering about the difference about the FS-CF Pro and the FS-H200 Pro, thinking that the latter may be a less expensive alternative.... I got this note back from Focus support as well:

"The FS-H200 Pro will work with the Canon just like the FS-CF, however, it cannot record in 1080 24F, 25F or 30F in the Quicktime file format. The FS-H200 can be controlled by the camera without a tape in the camera. You can play clips back on the screen of the FS-H200 Pro or through the viewfinder of the camera."

Wonder if there's a FCP plugin available like the Sony HVR-MRC1K includes. I guess being able to import direct, rather than converting would be easier in the long run.
