grabbing stills from an HDV file - HELP!

Hi,

I have a 60i HDV file....

I need a way to automatically capture/grab stills from the video.

I need them be as clear/vibrant and as sharp as possible.

I am currently using Vegas 7 to automatically render out stills every 5 or 10 seconds...
They look pretty good... but I am wondering... is there a better way?
To get even better stills?
