MiniDV Tape Deck Solutions? at DVinfo.net

Hello,
I wanted to keep the hours on my xha1 low, and not run the risk of damaging it.
A "Cheap MiniDV Deck" would be nice, but the MiniDV Gods have made no such thing, since most of them run well above $1000.

Someone recommended that I purchase a HV10, or something similar and just use it as a deck.

Does anyone have another solution/cheap camera recommendation?
Will I lose quality when I play the xha1 tape in the hv10 to capture?
