RG59 vs RG6 coax for SDI

Hi everyone!

I am putting together a multi-camera live switched setup. I know that RG6 coax is best for digital signals, especially over long runs.

My questions is how long of cable runs could I realistically expect to be able to pull off with RG59 when doing 1080i SDI transmission.

We use both Canare RG59 and Belden 1694 cable (RG59) for our HD-SDI wiring infrastructure.
I've had runs over 200 ft and not had any problems.
I believe the spec is 300 ft. Need longer, you can purchase 'balens' that turn the signal into optical and can go over 6 kilometers on glass fiber.

RG6 is thicker, which is usually considered better, but as long as the cable is spec'd to work with HDSDI, I think you're good to go over 200 ft.
