What is best codec for viewing .M2T (HDV) files?

I have a Sony HVR-A1J, from which I capture .M2T (HDV) files.

I don't have any problems editing them with Vegas Video or VirtualDub.

However, I would like to know what combination of splitters and decoders is best for just playing the M2T files as-is.

So far I have found the best results with VideoLan, using Bob deinterlace.

In terms of playback using DirectShow, the Open Source MPEG2 Decoder and Splitter are good, but with occasional inexplicable slowdowns and stutters. Sometimes the MainConcept splitter takes over as well, with unpredictable results.

Anyone having good results just playing .M2T files as-is?
