Which downres is better: "HDV to DV" Vs. "HDV to DVCAM"

Apologies if this question has been asked before.

I am in the post production phase of my project which sits on about 10 HDV tapes. The project was shot on the JVC HD100, 720 res, and 24 frames/s.

My question is: Which down conversion is better "HDV to DV" or "HDV to DVCam"?

My intentions for the project:
- I want a DVD end product
- This project is not intended for broadcast
- I am looking to enter it into film festivals.
- I used the HDV format, knowing that we will downres it to SD when outputting on DVD.

The reason for the down ressing is that I do not own the camera or the editing equipment (actually I am not editing it myself, nor do I intend to). The editors I have talked to so far, favor the downres (with a matching timecode).

recapping the question: My question is: Which down conversion is better "HDV to DV" or "HDV to DVCam"?

Any feedback on the above is appreciated.

Well, DV and DVCAM have identical picture quality. Probably easier to get matching TC with DVCAM though....
