Canopus Users, lend me your advice! at DVinfo.net

Hello all, first time post here. I recently purchased an older Dvrex M1 R3 turnkey system and i need some advice. I'm capturing my analog video tapes and converting them to mpeg to burn to DVD. I also purchased a Pioneer DVR-104 burner to accomplish this. I have successfully captured, edited a small 5 minute video and burned it to disk. I used a Pioneer DVD-RW disc that surprisingly played in both of my set top players. Ok, enough rambling. Here's my question.

I want to of course use the best mpeg encoder to take my video to DVD. I just sent for the DVtools upgrade that Canopus offers for there Software mpg encoder. Canopus of course offers more expensive software to encode and also pci cards to do it in real time. At the moment my main concern is quality. I'm not on a schedule so having the mpeg done in realtime is not that crucial at this time. Please advice me you wise people, is the Canopus Software mpg encoder a top notch encoder or should i be looking for something *alot* better? If this encoder is not up to snuff then should i purchase one of the mpeg cards? Will the cards make a difference in quality?

If its Quality your after you should download TMPGenc, time consuming but high quality.
