Edius Audio Filters limited help at DVinfo.net

Edius audio filters seem very limited. I have Pro 3. Do later editions, 4 and 4.5 have reverb, flange, chorus? What software are you using to aid in the audio
editing to gain a variety of filters?

The version 4.24 doesn’t have the filters you mentioned. I use Adobe Audition to correct any audio problems (pre and post editing). You could use VST plugins, but there are issues – not all will work in it and some may introduce 2-4 frame delays.

We're looking to change our editing system from Avid and are considering Premiere and Vegas, but Edius has been suggested as well. How easy is it to use Audition with Edius? We need a system that easily injests P2 files and one that has decent audio editing tools.

Edius has no audio editing capabilities (imo).
You can apply filters: delay, EQ, high pass, low pass, pan and balance, parametric equalizer, tone, and pitch shifter. You also have VST bridge, but the implementation is very picky about the plugins it will work with. No integration exists for Edius and Audition. You can import video into Audition and when done export it back to video or to a wave file. I usually export to a wave file and replace the original audio with it (in edius). The mixer in Edius is good enough to mix, balance and pan the audio, but to do anything more I use Audition.

I use EDIUS 4.54 for editing P2 clips coming from HVX202 camera. For audio, I export the audio to WAV and use Sony's Sound Forge - and import it back to EDIUS. Zero problems whatsoever. Just don't use the EDIUS "24 bits" - the camera captures in 16 bits anyway - so export the WAV as 16 bits. Sound Forge will have no problems reading that.
