Two Camera Operators needed in Green Bay

Two Camera Operators/Crew Members needed in Green Bay

We need two camera operators willing to do everything from shoot, light, and grip for a one day (and possibly two day shoot) in Green Bay WI around the first or second week in March (dates not set in stone yet). The shoot will include interviews (inside and outdoors) and sports action video.

Two matched HD cameras, Lowell lighting, etc. a plus but not necessary. Our own fly-a-way kits are getting more expensive to travel with all the time. We will consider your gear for a reasonable fee.

Please send your rates and information to steve@corporateshow.com

We are also interested in a good hair and make up artist if someone would be kind enough to make a recommendation for someone you have used.

Professional demeanor and work ethic are a high priority for us.

Steve

Shooting in Seattle April 1-5

I'm traveling to Seattle for my third annual stock footage recording session. I'm taking orders now. Does anyone have specific shots they would love to see from that area? I'll be in Tacoma, Kent, & Seattle proper for probably a total of 12-14hrs of shooting.

Equipment is a MiniDV SD cam (yeah yeah yeah... I know) and possibly a HD-DSLR (Might have a Powershot SX1-IS.... or the new Rebel T1i).

Even if you don't want shots.. what would be neat for me to try shooting? I'm specifically thinking towards time lapses.

EX1/3/350 + cameraman needed Perth Australia

I'm looking for a possible cameraman and XDCAM HD camera - EX1 / EX3 or PMW-350 to shoot a talking head IV in Perth Australia over the next month or so (exact dates to be decided). Pretty simple job but needs to be high quality + good audio (lav radio mic OK).

Anyone interested, please contact me at:

crew at siliconpixel dot com

I'll obviously need to talk rates, experience and see some example IV type work.

Many thanks!

Paul.

Anchorage/Palmer Alaska Gear Rental

Hi,

I'm heading up to Palmer on Sunday for a funeral of a good buddy of mine I used to hang out with in Alaska.

I'm bringing my Sony EX1, and some audio gear, but would rather not schlep my Rifa 500 and tripod up there if I don't have to. Still trying to figure out if I can fit them in carry-on luggage.

I'm producing a longer memorial DVD for the family (pro bono) and want to have people share their memories of the guy.

And, me and my 'professional' ways just can't stand to do anything less than a pro job on it.

Does anyone live in the Palmer area that could rent me a Rifa or equivalent and tripod for a few hours on Sunday?

Let me know.

Thanks,

Jim

I have not been back to Plamer in a few years, but there really is not much there. It's a small town and any time I shot there I made sure I had two of everything because Anchorage was a good drive for any kind of replacement. Also, Anchorage is not very big either so finding spare anything there was also hit and miss at best. Like I said it's been years since I was there, but having lived up there for 4 years it didn't seem to grow very quickly. Good luck and sorry to hear about your friend...

The only "big" production business I know of in the Palmer/Wasilla area is a place called DotConn Productions. Not sure if they rent gear though.

If you have the time, it would be well worth the effort to contact a couple places in Anchorage such as Talking Circle Media or IMIG Audio/Video. I know they rent out gear. I'd call Talking Circle First, because I've dealt with those guys before, and they're pretty cool. IMIG would be my second choice because they come off as being somewhat aloof and kind of cocky.

Anchorage isn't THAT far from Palmer, but it will take some time if you try going during rush hour. Otherwise, it's a 45-60 minute jaunt. In Alaskan terms, that's next door.

James Huenergardt February 12th, 2010 05:08 PM

I spoke with Talking Circle and they don't have anything.

I ended up renting one from Bexel in Burbank and I'll pick it up in SEA on my way through.

Thanks for all your replies.

Need shooters for 2/19 and 2/20 near Atlanta, GA

Looking for shooters, send me a message if you're in the area and available this weekend. Thanks!

It would help if you indicated the rate you're willing to pay
-- just to let folks know that you're not fishing for freebies.

Christian Jolly February 16th, 2010 09:56 AM

Are you telling me I could get people to work for free? Nice...I'll keep that in mind next time :)

In all seriousness, the pay is variable, but between $25 and $45 hourly (depending upon experience).

Nothing very demanding, pretty much working of a tripod. More details provided to serious contacts.
