HD DVD - 20 minute DVD+R with .m2t file (will it play?)

I've asked this question some time ago but never got a confirmation.

I frequently burn final edits of my HDV projects (typically from Sony V1 and HC1) onto "normal" DVD+R's to watch them in glorious High Def on my HDTV via my Sony Playstation 3...which is of course a Blue-Ray player.

This all works really well but you are limited to just over 20 mins on a normal DVD+R etc. as I and others have previously noted.

The question I have is this. Will a HD DVD player also play these very same DVD+R disks with .m2t files that I'm making???? (in HD of course!)

I don't have access to one of these players as I don't know anyone who went for that camp. I'm currently working on a 20 minute video project that will, ideally, have both Std Def and High Def delivery (to a wide audience) and I would like to know if this specific DVD+R route will be OK for HD DVD players.

Thanks in advance for any information!

The disc has to be "authored" in order for the HD DVD player to play the files.

Toshiba HD DVD players will *not* play a raw HD stream burned on a DVD-R.

Check out this thread here to author a HD DVD:
