Thanks everyone for the feedback.

The playback of HD footage on Eduis 5 far slower than the one on Vegas 8 even with the preview on Vegas was set to Best/Full!!! I do not know, but it seems that the Scalable Technology in Eduis 5 is not working well!!

I even compared both Eduis 5 & Vegas 8 with SD footage, and still Vegas outperformed Eduis in RT playback!!

Is there any special setting to do in Eduis 5 that I should do??

Now, unless the hardware-based Eduis can outpeform VelocityHD in RT performance, then I am not considering Eduis.

Well, you got something wacky going on. I use both Edius 5 and Vegas 7 and always find the reverse is true. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any reason why this should be in your case.

What is the performance level of the PC in these comparisons?

I don't know what you are after, but if you want 'high end' you should be looking at Avid and Autodesk rather than these two.

Having said that, I would like to know exactly what you get when you spend that much money. I know, at my level, there is nothing that could justify the difference.

I am using my Sony Vaio Notebook for Vegas 8 Pro, and Eduis 5. It is Core 2 Due, 2.5GHz, 250GB HDD, 3GB RAM, etc.

I use Vegas for my personal use, however for my company usage, no software-based NLE such as Vegas, Final Cut Pro, Preimere Pro, Eduis, etc. deliver enough horsepower. Hradware-based NLE systems is the way to go with big enough compaines, becouse time is money. Hardware-based NLE systems such as VelocityQ, gives you the freedome of spending more time editing, and experimenting with new ideas, effects, and etc. No time for long rendering .. such systems povide true RT performance, and dose not depend on the host system performance. Sure, I do not recomend such systems for very small companies, or personal use .. it just will not justify the extra cost.

Now, I have been told that Eduis provide TRUE RT performanc with the supports of its hardware, but I am confused .. why thier prices are too low when comparing with the others like VelocityHD, and Avid's system? THere must be a good reason!!

THey are claiming " THe fastest video editor on the world" !! It is hard to belive, and I can not just take thiere word for it.
