Problem capturing/editing HDV using SSD

Good day,

I just installed a samsung solid state drive (SSD) in my thinkpad T60p. The drive is working great with one exception: When I capture a HDV to the SSD through Vegas 8 the audio track gets messed up. Here are a few key points regarding my problem:

*Camera is a Sony HDR HC7
*I use Sony Vegas 8.0c to capture, edit and render
*My computer is: Thinkpad T60p, T2500 duo core @ 2.0GHz, RAM = 2Gig, Video is FireGL V5200. Running XP Pro
*I have updated all of the key drivers.
*The raw files captured play fine but when I open them up in Vegas the audio drops. If I play the video in vegas, the audio drops out where it flat lines (see image below)

If anyone has any ideas for me to try, please let me know.

Thanks,

Jeff B
