consumer level avchd discussion

Where on this web site would it be best to post consumer level discussion (I hestitate to use the word "amateur" for fear I'll be asked to depart from this site) on AVCHD capture and editing. I am using a Sony SR11 camcorder and would like to discuss, with similarly equipped members, the problems associated with understanding the format better, downloading footage from camera to computer, editing in the computer, burning DVDs, and acquiring suitable computer equipment to maximize production efficiency in these areas. I see very few discussions at the SR11 camcorder level (or similar cameras from JVC, Panasonic, Canon etc). So just where on this site would it be best to go for this kind of discussion. Or can some other web site be recommended for this?

You could try here:
AVCHD Format Discussion - The Digital Video Information Network
and/or the site maintained by your nle of choice.

Good advice from another Dave! There's a dedicated forum section for "small camcorders", and one section just for those with AVCHD cams, so you'd have the cam end covered there, and there are dedicated sections for most editing solutions, as well as computer setups, just search around a bit, and if you can find a question that hasn't been answered already (it's POSSIBLE... but not too likely), there are users with every possible configuration!

SR11 and CX12, frankenstein Q6600/Vegas 8c Pro on XP myself... you can do a lot with these li'l guys.
