HDV Capture Utility
 

Can somebody with this camera please tell me where i can find the capture utility for the HD10 camera. I rented it for over this weekend, and they didn't give me the software. and i wish just to capture what i shot before i return it. Once it is on my computer i don't have to worry about renting it again just to capture. So if someone could tell me where to find it, or send it to my email address or whatever... any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much

Mac or PC?

on the PC you need XP and DVHSTool

On the Mac you can use DVHSCap or virtualDVHS, which comes with the firewire SDK

Either method results in a file which is a mpeg2 transport stream.
You will need to convert this to a format usable by your NLE. Take a look at the top 2 threads in this forum for editing solutions.
