Please need help, to figure out how to copy from computer or JVC GR-HD1U on JVC HM-DH40000 via iLink. From computer I use the same software which is come with camera. Computer recognized VCR, and I am able to write files from PC to VCR, but I always getting blank screen, like is nothing coping on tape. Same happing with the camera — blank screen on VCR after recording. I need your help guys. Maybe I am doing something wrong. The files I tried to copy from computer were mpeg-TS.
Thanks.

Try dvhstool

Try dvhstool for transfer from your computer to your deck. The file is a free download, you can do a search on this site for the web address. I believe capdvhs also does the same thing although I do not know if it has shuttle control.

Michael,

I have the model 30000 DVHS recorder and can get it to work. I use the iLink port on the back of the DVHS not the front. Also, I have to make sure that the DVHS is set to the correct input "I-4" or something like that and then it records correctly. You need to use the remote to set that.
