MTS hardware playback

While looking at the site I came across this MIT MDP-120

• Receives digital TV(ATSC), analog TV(NTSC) and analog cable TV
• Records digital TV and analog TV broadcasting programs
• Decodes all 18 ATSC formats
• Upconvert and scale input video to 720p, 768p, and 1080i
• - Transport stream capture
• - AVI capture
• - Still frame image capture
• RGB or YPbPr(Component) output
• S-video, Composite and audio inputs
• Dual RF Inputs
• DVI loop-thru and TOSLINK digital optical output with optional DVI daughter add-on card
• Digital Audio output with Dolby Digital 5.1-channel via S/PDIF cinch
• Supports D-VHS through IEEE 1394 interface(Windows XP only)
• Supports scheduled recording
• Supports aspect ratio conversion
• Supports EPG (through Titan
• Provides external S-video, composite and analog stereo audio input
• Plays transport stream and DVD format files
• Includes an infrared remote control and serial-IR receiver (serial port on your PC is req'd, not included)

The part that caught my eye was the hardware transport stream playback, I wonder if this card would assist with editing JVC’s mts streams.

Anyone familiar with this card, any software that allows you to specify hardware for playback?
