New Mac drivers for "Highpoint RocketRAID 1820A card" - it has 8 SATA ports

Hey all,

I'd like to re-start the RAID for HDV discussion.

Over at - http://www.barefeats.com/

There is some big duscussion about RAID's in regards to the "Highpoint" card being available for Mac now. I'm wondering about this update!

I am thinking about ordering from www.macgurus.com the box they have that allows 4 drives with an SATA card on-board a Mac.

Anyone care to share their thoughts? Mooooooog????

The Highpoint card and Macgurus external SATA RAID box look interesting. Personally, I had problems with my SATA raid, I'd wake up one day and the RAID had dissapeared, then the next day it was back, so I haven't been using it lately, but I will have to find a solution soon as I plan to edit a lot of Varicam footage pretty soon. Please let us know if you have good results with this solution Chris.
