HDV Playback Problems

I'm guessing it's just cause my computer can't handle it, but I haven't been able to get playback to work on FCP much with the footage I've gotten from the Z1. I captured using iMovie, so it's in AIC, and wierdly the footage plays back fine in iMovie. I've got a Powerbook 17" 1.33. I know 1 ghz is the lower end of what they recommend, but is there any setting or any changes I can make that will allow me to watch the footage in FCP? When I imported the footage into FCP, it gave me a dialogue warning me the footage wasn't optimized for FCP, so I'm thinking I'm missing a step. I used this process:

Thanks!
