Hmmm.... For $11,495 US, I'm not sure I'm so impressed. I guess for certain applications it's probably very nice. Just my take...

And what about this:
Guaranteed full quality, full frame rate, full resolution playback at up to 1080i at 29.97 fps

At up to only 1080i at 29.97?

Please keep in mind that this system does not edit HDV. It edits HD. There is a difference. They will release an HDV version eventually though.

I wonder if Axio is really going to make it..... It seems late to market and only viable for a broadcast market where Avid and Bluefish/Premiere have already been doing business. I guess their main target will be their old digisuite customers. Matrox was doing so well with RTX100 and they just dropped it for Axio. There is a void now with Canopus dropping Premiere support for Edius - I think Matrox could have really stepped up to the plate, but they dropped the ball. With all that R&D I'm sure they did to bring this to market, I hope they know what they're doing.
