My power supply
 

Am really feeling bad now cuz I have only used my new corsair tx850 for just two months and my computer hasn't been coming on anymore.can anyone advice me on what to do or can the psu be fixed because I can't easily get one now.thanks

PSUs are an easy fix, though I don't know too much about sourcing them in Nigeria.

Just be sure to get one that is rated for a higher wattage than the one that just failed on you. Perhaps the local computer shop could assist you in this?

but is it possible for it to just pack up after just 2months?i actually got the advice from videoguys to go for the corsair psu.

A PS failure after 2 months could be simply bad luck (a very small number of anything will fail in their first few months, but it IS a very small number, and it should be covered by warranty) OR the PS is underated for the task being asked of it.

That could be either:

One or more voltage rails drawing excess current over and above the PS's ability to cope

OR

The temperature rating of the PS being exceeded, either due to faulty/ inadequate case ventilation or ambient + in case thermal gains taking the unit beyond it's limits.

With the best case ventilation in the world, if ambient is 45 degrees C, Houston, you have a problem.

Then there is the "it ain't the PS" option. A fault/ short in the wiring, on the MB itself, a shorted/ seized fan, you name it will prevent the PS from firing up.

Try disconnecting everything but the start button (if possible) and see if it springs into life, a long shot but could just be.

PS: Do ensure that there is power getting to the PSU - check mains plug fuses (if used there) and that the wall mains outlet is actually working correctly.
