Laptop (or maybe not) HDV editing

I'm after a laptop to edit HDV, and I'm considering the new Apple MacBook Pro - I know that Final Cut Pro hasn't caught up with the new 'Universal' OS yet so no one has tried it on the new MacBook Pro (its out v soon though), but on paper is it going to be fast enough to use?

If not, what PC based laptops should I be looking for?

Or are laptops simply not good enough, because theoretically I don't desperately need a laptop, but it'd be great for taking to clients etc. and working from home or whatever.

Please help, I need to get buying soon!

Cheers

Dave
