using still photos in my project

i hope this is the correct forum.
Does anyone have any tips for importing stills into my project
im using final cut pro, and i want to use 5 stills.
they come out sort of blurry when i zoom in on them.
should i deinterlace them, or what size should i use. psd? tif?
thanks in advance

The stills might need to be higher resolution?

2- It's usually best if you monitor on an external A/V device... i.e. a DV camcorder. This will let you spot things you can't see on a computer monitor.

If not, the next best thing in this scenario is setting the canvas to 100% zoom.

3- The file format doesn't make too much of a difference, other than if either format doesn't work.

Photoshop layers are supported in FCP.

I believe this article should help with your still image question.
