From 60i to 24p > Is this the correct workflow?
 

Since this question spans a variety of software... wasnt sure where to ask but will try here first.

I just finished my short. Used a Sony Z1 at 60i (15 Tapes). My goal for the project is 1.) Film Festivals > 2.) Net Download 3.) Maybe DVD > in that order. To tell the truth I dont know if I have enouph remaining funds to transfer to film... so will for now target festivals that accept HD tapes, DVDs, ect and if it does well there... transfer to film for bigger festivals.

I now realize I will have to upgrade my PC to edit it but in this thread want to concentrate in the process of going from 60i to progressive 24p. I have read these boards relentlessly (many of the subjects) but still if anyone can give me some help it would be greatly appriciated.

I have read many threads and articles that suggest converting to 24p before editing is the better way to go, so that is how I would like to do it... but not exactly sure where in the timeline... this comes along... see below.

Is This Correct 1?
Capture with Connect HD and use its "on the fly" (24p pulldown) frame rate conversion to 24fps > output the Connect HD codec avi. file > Use DVFilmmaker to dienterlace > Open Vegas 7 and edit on a 24p timeline.

or 2?
Capture with Connect HD and output the Connect HD codec avi. file > Use DVFilmmaker to get to 24p AND dienterlace > Open Vegas 7 and edit on a 24p timeline.

I also see that maybe Connect HD can go to 24p and Deinterlace but have not read or heard about any film makers using this method... they all use DVFilmmaker and or Magic Bullet... why? Quality?
