Help with Monitors

Hey Guys,

My editing system (specs below) is reaching me in a few days. The thing I still haven't decided on is the monitors. I need preferably 1 large LCD and one other lcd for monitoring through the FX1500's component out, or 2Xsmaller lcd and 1 lcd for monitoring. What do you guys suggest? Something that is also economical coz this system itself is costing me a bomb. Will be using Adobe Production Studio with Cineform Aspect HD. Thanks.

> 2Xsmaller lcd and 1 lcd for monitoring

You wont be able to do that with the quadroFx alone ..although it has 2 DVI outs and a component out, you can only use two of those at a time.

Your options are: 1) go with the 2-monitor option
2) Add a PCI graphics card to drive the 3rd monitor
3) Get instead a Matrox Parhelia that supports 3 monitors simultaneously.

Personally, I'd recommend one big main monitor, plus a 16:9 monitor that you drive with the component out.
