troubles with CineTools conforming hdv 1080i50 to 23.98fps
I'm using Cinema Tools to try to conform 1080i50 footage to 23.98.
The files does not conform and goe to skipped file with the same frame rate(actually it doesn't even enable the button "conform" when I open the clip in Cinema Tools). I tryed export the clips to 720p25 to conform it to 23.98 but no results, same as first case. The only thing that worked was downconverting the hdv footage to DV, but then I'm loosing all the hdv bennefits. What's wrong? Cinema Tools doesn't actually conform 1080i50 to 23.98? My Cinema Tools version is 3.1.2 Thanks for the help! |
Why conform a standard PAL 50i to NTSC DF? What do you want to achieve?
|
I want to leave it ready for filmtransfer and need to output to DVD, but here in Brazil most of dvd players (and tv) does not play PAL. So the solution I saw was conforming the project to 23.98, slowing down 4% of the speed.
I use both formats 720p and 1080i in the same project and as the Z1 does not record true 24p I decided to set both cameras (HD100u & Z1) at 25p and 50i to shoot. The FCP timeline is HDV 1080i50. Why cinema tools doesn't conform 50i to 23.98fps? Does anybody now? Thanks |

Both.
This first and shoter vertion goes to sd-dvd. The second and longer one goes for film transfer. Thanks |
You could try exporting the shorter version to a PAL AVI and have Procoder or Procoder Express convert it to NTSC. From there you import that file into your authoring application.
For the film transfer, I would take the easy way out and leave it at 25P. |
