Any idea of the specs or model number of the standard mic that comes with the LS300?

Can't seem to find anything in the documentation

Would really appreciate that. Spent 2 hrs checking online pdf adverts but no one says anything about the mic!

I understand completely. It's a common issue. You can get nearly every spec you want in the video / imaging area, but when it comes to audio, usually it just says "mic included." I hope to get a response from JVC today.

Not sure if you own the camera but if you where planning to buy it I already can tell you the stock shotgun mike is not so good and the camera internal audio is even worse, I replaced the stock mike with my audio technica at897 which sounds a lot better.

@Noa just got the camera today. Don't plan on using the Mic, but I would like to know specs to decide it's faith!

I wonder if it's even produced by JVC there is no logo or mark on it

I have AT875 and I plan on using that one for the time being.

Internal cam mic.... I've seen 1 review where they said it was good.... I bet no one believes that!

I'm sure other ls300 owners will chime in to say that the internal mike and the shotgun mike are not good, I hear a clear difference in quality when I connect my at897. The stock mike might be a mike specifically made for this camera and which cannot be bought separately.

Since they mention the mic in the ads, least is to write a line or 2 of specs. most probably it's a very wide cardioid

Found the answer. The model number is JVC QAN0067-003.

I can find plenty of online links that sell this mic, but I can't find anything with solid info on the specs.

Not even JVC's own product page. Well, you had asked for a model number so at least we were able to find *that* out (and as it turns out, that info was here all along).

If *you* find out anything about the specs, please be sure to share them with us!

Well, there's this:
